Builders and construction firms

Construction website design

People hiring a builder are about to spend a lot of money and they are nervous about it. They want to see work like theirs, finished, and evidence you will turn up, stay on budget and still be around when the snagging list arrives. A construction website's job is to show that, and to filter out enquiries that are never going to be the right fit.

Short answer

A construction company website needs project case studies with real photos, the accreditations and memberships you hold, a page for each type of work, the areas you cover, and a quote form that asks about project type, budget and timing. Ours is £949 setup and £59 a month (Grow) for most builders, or £449 and £39 (Launch) for a smaller firm starting out.

What clients check before a quote

  • Work like mine. Extensions, loft conversions, new builds, refurbishments, each shown with real photos and a short write-up.
  • Proof you are established. How long you have traded, the accreditations and trade memberships you hold, and insurance.
  • Who will be on site. The people, not a stock photo of a hard hat.
  • How it works. Survey, quote, schedule, build, sign-off. A clear process calms nerves.
  • Do you cover my area?

Project pages do the selling

For a builder, a well-written project page beats any amount of general copy. The brief, the problem, what you did, how long it took, and before-and-after photos. Each one is also a page that can be found by someone searching for that type of job in that area. We set up a simple format so adding a project is a quick edit, not a redesign.

A quote form that saves you site visits

Ask the questions you would ask on the phone: what type of project, the address or area, rough budget, when they want to start, and whether plans or planning permission exist yet. You get fewer, better enquiries, and fewer wasted visits to jobs that were never going to go ahead.

Example: a building firm doing extensions and renovations across a county

£949 setup, then £59 a month (Grow)
  • 10+ pages: a page per type of work, project case studies and areas covered
  • Accreditations and insurance shown clearly
  • Quote form that asks about project type, budget and timing
  • Google Business Profile and local search groundwork
  • New projects added as edits to the gallery

Fixed price. No long-term contract. You own your domain and content.

Accreditations: show what you hold

Clients and main contractors look for accreditations and memberships. Show the ones you genuinely hold, with logos where the scheme allows it and a link to your listing where there is one. Never show one you do not hold: it is the fastest way to lose a client who checks.

Questions people ask

How much does a construction company website cost?

Ours is £949 setup and £59 a month for most builders, including hosting and edits, or £449 and £39 for a smaller firm. Published UK agency prices for a bespoke site run from about £2,000 to £10,000.

Can I add new projects myself?

On our packages you send us the photos and a few lines and we add it as an edit. If you want to edit the site yourself, we also build on WordPress or Squarespace, priced on a call.

Do you build for commercial contractors too?

Yes. The emphasis shifts to capability, accreditations, sectors and case studies for main contractors and clients, but the approach is the same.
